With the holidays only a few days away, I think this project is something you’re all gonna like. Cosyspeed, the photography funny pack company just announced a new line of products – African lens pouches. Aside from being gorgeous pieces of gear, they are made in a sustainable way. The lens pouches are made in Africa by a local community. That means that when you buy one of these (insanely cheap) lens pouches, you are also providing a job to a young mother.

I talked to Thomas about this project and he explained the concept to me: The pouches come in two flavors, both are lined with microfiber on the inside, and either black or African style fabric on the outside. the pouches come in four sizes:

S size Lens Pouch: (Ø) 80 mm / 3.2″ x (h) 100 mm / 4″ – Fits prime lensesM size Lens Pouch: (Ø) 120 mm / 4.7″ x (h) 200 mm / 8″ – Fits standard zoom lenses up to 24-70/2.8L size Lens Pouch: (Ø) 140 mm / 5.5″ x (h) 280 mm / 11″ – Fits tele zoom lenses up to 70-200/2.8Microfibre Cleaning Cloth: 150 mm / 6″ x 150 mm 6″ – For lens cleaning

I was pretty surprised at the prices: ranging from $4.00 to $11.00, those would both be a great purchase and a wonderful gift. To grab an African Lens Pouch head over to the project page on Indiegogo.
