Luminar 4 is set to be released this fall, and Skylum is gradually revealing all the exciting features it’s going to offer. After showing off how its Sky Replacement feature works, Skylum now demonstrates its new AI Structure tool. It’s a smart content-aware tool that automatically adds detail to a photo, but without negatively affecting people or other subjects.
With the Luminar 4, Skylum is relying more on AI tools than ever before. The new Structure tool uses content-aware algorithms to automatically enhance the structure in a photo without negatively impacting certain objects. The AI Structure feature in Luminar 4 automatically identifies objects like people and their faces, skin, sky, buildings and so on. It improves them selectively instead of globally across the entire photograph. It adds detail and clarity to selected areas and boosts their structure, but keeps a pleasing and natural-looking image. Additionally, you can also apply special “Structure Boost Technology” controls, which allow you to make extremely detailed photos for creative image looks.
What does this new feature mean for photographers? Well, just like the AI Sky Replacement tool, it’s all about saving time and making the editing process faster and more efficient. You will no longer have to mask or brush out the effect after you apply structure to the entire image.
Skylum notes that AI Structure works with any type of photo, and doesn’t add additional artifacts like noise or halos. It combines with other Luminar 4 filters and removes the need to use manual settings of Structure, Clarity, and Microstructure in most cases. Luminar 4 is set to be released this fall, and pre-orders are already available on Skylum’s website.
