Submerging most regular drones in water probably wouldn’t be the best idea. Waterproof Lily drone has failed, and I hope you didn’t order one as there were some problems with refunds. So, if you’re still looking for a drone to fly over glistening lakes, film water activities or even submerge it in water, Swellpro Drones can be a good solution. This video from Dustin Dunnill demonstrates how the drone works both in the air and underwater. You can get it in and out of the ocean like a teabag, and it rises up and flies with no trouble.

These Swellpro drones come in two main versions. You can get a waterproof Splash Drone Fisherman version for $1,399 and Splash Drone Auto version for $1,599. Fisherman version comes with a SAR fishing line release mechanism with a waterproof camera, video transmitter and FPV monitor. It is the most serious waterproof drone for long fishing line delivery and bait dropping. But you don’t need to be a fishing enthusiast to use this one. I believe filming the fish is way more fun than fishing, so you can have this drone to film the underwater world. These are the specs:

As for the Splash Drone Auto version, it comes with a waterproof GoPro gimbal, a fishing line release rig, a ground station and a fpv monitor for live video feed. It is primarily built for stabilized aerial filming over the water or in the rains. The ground stations enable several smart flights like mission planning and follow-me:

I recently had a conversation and I said that I would be too scared to fly a drone above water, as I would most likely have it crash down. But I believe that with something like this, the clumsy ones like me would be on the safe side. What do you think? Would you consider investing into this drone for filming underwater and in rainy weather? Or you have a better solution to suggest?
