As the latest addition to their EOS Cinema cameras, Canon has launched EOS C200. It features a super 35mm CMOS sensor paired with Canon’s Dual DIGIC DV 6 image processor, which allow shooting up to 4K DCI resolution. With its compact size and powerful features, Canon EOS C200 could be, as DigitalRev refers to it, “the ultimate run & gun camera.”

Canon EOS C200 is compatible both with Canon’s DSLR lenses and with the entire range of EF-mount CN-E cinema prime and zoom lenses. The camera weighs only 3.2 lb, which lets you mount it on a gimbal or a larger drone. All this provides you with versatility and different creative options.

The camera is modeled on the Super 35mm motion picture film standard. The CMOS sensor has an active image size of 24.4 x 13.5mm and supports 4Kshooting, as well as supporting Ultra HD (3840 x 2160), and Full HD (1920 x 1080). You can shoot at frame rates from 24fps to 60fps, and you can choose to record at 120/100p when recording in Full HD. As for the dynamic range, it’s approximately 13 stops. ISO sensitivity ranges from 160 to 25,600, but you can expand it to be from 100 to 102,400. Canon EOS C200 also offers built-in ND filters – standard from 2, to 6 stops, and expanded from 2, to 10 stops. All this brings you possibilities for shooting in various lighting conditions – from toning down bright light, to shooting in low-light conditions.

Let’s take a look at complete list of specs: Canon EOS C200 is newly announced, and it will be available for preorders next week, starting from Monday, June 5. You can preorder either body only for $7,499, or C200 paired with 24-105mm lens for $8,399.
