have you planned to upgrade your Canon lenses this year but you can’t afford it? Or you just want to pair the ones you own with mugs that look just like them? Well, Canon Japan has a selection of coffee mugs, tumblers, and shot glasses just for you. Yes, the company has launched a set of lens cups that look just like your favorite lenses.
Canon Japan offers the cups on its “Official Fans Goods” website, and there are a few different types. there’s a ceramic coffee mug that looks like the RF 24–105mm F4 L IS USM lens with a handle. It retails for 2,480 yen (~$25), but you can also get it as a part of a set containing two mugs and silicone coasters for 6,480 yen (~$64). The coasters are pretty cool and there are two kinds. One looks like the front of Canon RF 50mm F1.2 L USM lens, and the other looks like a Canon EOS R camera. So, when you place the mug on it, it kinda looks like a camera with the lens attached.
For hardcore coffee lovers like John and I, there’s a tumbler shaped like the EF 70–200mm F2.8L IS III USM lens. Sadly, it’s made of plastic, and if you’re like me, you don’t like drinking from plastic cups. But if you aren’t, you can get this lens mug for 3,480 yen (~$35). If you’d like it as a part of a set with the RF 24–105mm F4 lens and the coasters, it costs 7,480 yen (~$72).
The last one is a set of “mini glasses,” which I’d say are shot glasses. They’re designed to look like the EF 16–35mm F2.8L III USM, EF 24–70mm F2.8L II USM, and EF 70–200mm F2.8L IS III USM. This set costs 4,980 yen (~$48).
Like I mentioned in this article, I got two lens mugs and I don’t drink my coffee, water, or booze from neither of them. Instead, I use them for stationery. But I do like the ceramic mug from this set, I could actually drink coffee from it… But I’d prefer a Nikon version. For Canon shooters, all lens cups are available here. Would you get one of these cups and which one? Or you prefer something more classic (but still lens-inspired) like these? [via DPReview]
