It’s not just Adobe who has decided to offer its apps for free during the coronavirus outbreak. To all of you in isolation, Serif is offering three months of the whole Affinity suite for free. This includes Affinity Photo, Publisher and Designer, and there are also discounts for everyone who decides to buy the apps after the three-month period.
First of all, everyone can get a 90-day free trial of the Mac and Windows versions of the whole Affinity suite. Of course, you can buy and keep the apps for Mac, Windows PC and iPad after the trial period. If you decide to do so, you’ll get a 50% discount. Last but not least, Serif promises to “engage more than 100 freelance creatives for work, spending the equivalent of our annual commissioning budget in the next three months.” There are no details about this yet, but we can expect them soon.
With this prolonged free trial and discounts, Serif hopes to will “make life a little easier for people who rely on creative software to make a living, but may be stuck at home without their usual tools, or for students who might not have access to their Affinity apps on their personal devices.” Just like many individuals and companies, Serif is also giving its contribution to make our lives easier at these crazy times. The free trial and the discounts are for now available until 20 April. However, Serif plans to review the situation as time goes on, so this is susceptible to changes.
