We’ve featured the heart-warming, beautiful projects of The heART Project before. This time, 12 photographers came together to create a wonderful photo storybook, The Get Well Tree. It contains 14 photos that look like they came straight out of a fairy tale. But the main characters are real-life girls, two little heroes. Evie Gleeson (5) and Indy Dawes (4) met two and a half years ago in a hospital where they were undergoing childhood cancer treatment. Over this time, they became close friends, and they both managed to fight the illness. Now they want to encourage other sick children through their story. So, they posed for the photos that became a part of the Get Well Tree book. We share these amazing photos with you, together with the video and the story.

As you may already know, The heART Project is a movement that aims to improve people’s lives through photography. It was founded by photographer Karen Alsop and Adam Cubito. This time, the team gathered to create a unique picture storybook. Evie and Indy acted out the stories in a green screen studio. Later on, the artists worked together to edit the photos and turn them into the recognizable, dream-like composites.

The photos became a part of The Get Well Tree book, which contains 14 pages of exquisite Photoshop artworks, with backgrounds provided by Adobe Stock. The goal of the book is to comfort the sick children, as well as their parents during this stressful time. Take a look at the photos:

As Karen Alsop said, this book means a lot to the girls and their families: Zno.com printed 50 books, which were gifted to children in the Cancer Ward. Evie, Indy, children’s entertainment group Hi-5 and The heART Project Team visited the Cancer Ward and gifted autographed copies of the book to the kids.

If you’d like to support the further printing of this wonderful book, head over to the Kickstarter campaign. You can also discover more about the project on The heART Project’s website.
